The Exhibition

All work Commended as part of the YCN Awards is showcased at an annual Summer show. Most recently hosted by London's Village Underground, the event presents Commended work alongside specially commissioned installations and projects. At Village Underground Commended entries were displayed on a special interactive interface produced by design studio Tinker.
We also collaborated with Inventory Studio, Alex Ostrowski and Hattie Newman, Jiggery Pokery as well as Sinem Erkas and Rose Clark to create colourful supporting elements. A set of images taken at the event can be seen here. Details regarding the venue for next year's event will be announced in early 2009.
The Book

Published annually, the YCN Book is distributed to agencies, and other creative organisations, internationally; as well as to a network of Universities, Colleges and Art & Design Schools. The publication presents all work Commended as part of the previous year's program alongside a showcase of some of the best work by emerging talent in the last 12 months.
Each Book also includes the very latest set of live creative briefs, to launch the new program. Book 0809 will be available from the middle of November this year, and in the meantime details of last year's publication can be found here.
World of YCN

As part of this year's YCN Book we created a physical 'World of YCN' - with different parts of the world relating to the publication's sections. The creation of the world was led by Bryony Birkbeck and Krissy Grundberg, who collaborated with various designers and illustrators through YCN to make elements ranging from lighthouses and bridges, to fish and planes.
A set of images of the world of YCN being photographed can be seen here.
Valero Doval
London based illustrator Valero Doval was commissioned to create a series of images around the theme of 'Submit'. The four strong collection are presented within this section, and will be used as part of other promotion for the Awards.
A big thanks to Valero for the lovely animals - more of his work can be seen here.
Professional Development
All those Commended as part of the YCN Awards are offered professional development and other project based opportunities at partnering creative agencies (and other organisations) internationally. Shown is Deanna Halsall creating some wall artwork at Love Manchester as part of last year's YCN LIVE activity.
