Today we've received a sneak peak of the coming YCN Book, designed by HudsonBec, in the form of running sheets from our printer. It's looking great, and finished copies will be available from next week. We're hoping to hear from children's writers for a possible client project. If you're an illustrator that also creates stories then even better, and please email over some examples.

The Call for Entries for this year's YCN Awards has now launched. The 25 live creative briefs that form the basis of this year's program present a brilliant range of challenges; from encouraging people to play more ping pong, to encouraging more visits to the National Portrait Gallery.
As ever, all those Commended will have their work included as part of a summer show, and in the pages of our annual book. Professional development opportunities are also offered by an impressive range of agencies, and other organisations, internationally. This year the Awards are open to anyone, anywhere not working professionally full-time; all needed to take part can be found here.

Yesterday and today we've run some research exercises for the Finnish company Blyk. Many thanks to all those that attended and to Simon at Blyk's agency Contra, and Elin Svensson for presenting work to the group. Jack Larner was one of those kindly to take part; and can be seen above presenting the Towel of Commendation to mark those Commended (Jack included) as part of the most recent YCN Awards. This year's Awards will be launched with a Call for Entries, week commencing 13th October.
