As noted here, we're working with Tomas Klassnik and OKAY studio to create the interior of our new workspace at 72 Rivington Street. It was great to see the first batch of wood land at the OKAY workspace today; and a set of images has been created at Flickr to chart the progress of the project in coming months. See it here.

We've been working with ico design on in-store graphics for the colourful new Snog stores in Central London. Giedre Domzaite has created some fantastic large format wall artwork, shortly to be unveiled - while Jamie Brown has helped apply some type to the store's shutters in Soho - captured above in yesterday's thelondonpaper.

We met today with Fedrigoni to discuss possible projects, including the supply of paper for the next issue of Ideas Illustrated magazine. The company have opened a great new London showroom to which designers are invited to visit; and make use of free meeting space, coffee and internet access. A series of installations, events and other such happenings in the space are currently in the planning - and if you'd like to pop by the address can be found here.
On 27th November designers are invited to bring something they've recently made, and that's printed on Fedrigoni stock, to the space for the chance to win a cash prize. The evening starts from 6pm and, again, all are welcome. Above is an image, by William Hall, used as part of the evening's promotion.

YCN has moved!... to new premises on London's Rivington Street; a three storey warehouse building in which we will now add a showroom and retail element to our existing studio set up (which itself will expand in the space over time). We're lucky to be working with Tomas Klassnik and OKAY studio on our interiors and furniture, all of which is being created for the space - a process which will be charted visually here, and commencing shortly.
A new location means new stationary and for this we're working with Jennie Hancock. Jennie's response to our brief sees the new letterheads, notepads, envelopes and other bits double up as a canvas on which to showcase individual designers and illustrators available to commission through YCN. The reverse of all elements will carry a digitally printed monotone artwork, and a credit for its originator. Shown is a reverse by Andrew Clark, and if you've a piece of work (existing or specially created) that you'd like to see included please feel free to email it over as there's no limit to how many we can use.

Ctrl.Alt.Shift is one of 25 organisations to have written a live creative brief as part of this year's YCN Awards; the challenge being to redefine what it means to 'give' to charity. It, along with all of this year's challenges, can be read in full here.
Ctrl.Alt.Shift are also currently offering the opportunity to be mentored by photographer Nan Goldin as part of a photography competition around the issue of 'Gender, power and poverty'. The winning entrants will also have their work showcased in Vice Magazine and alongside Goldin and other mentors work in a London gallery show at the end of January next year. Full details can be found here.

YCN are in the process of developing a brand new website for the youth arm of development charity ActionAid - a full case study of which will be added shortly. Alongside this Karen Brotherton has just been commissioned to produce some illustrations for a coming biofuels campaign. See more of Karen's work here.

Panasonic have launched a new competition for creative students, and we're helping them promote it. Next Generation Talent presents a live brief relating to the Panasonic Viera Home Hub HD TV, and there's an impressive collection of kit up for grabs as prizes for the best responses. We've collaborated with a group of image makers to create artwork to be used as a collection of postcards (shown above is Andrew Groves' effort) which can be seen, along with further details of the competition, here.

The latest copy of our annual publication has been sent off to the printers. The production this time has been a massive team effort, and a big thank you to all those involved - not least all those who took the time to make a tree to be planted in the World of YCN. The book will be available online from the middle of next month.
