Regular users of the site will notice that its design has undergone a structural and visual overhaul. A new basic beta version of the YCN site was uploaded on Sunday 27th April; with further modifications and additions to take place 'on the fly' in the coming days and weeks.
There will no doubt be numerous glitches, missing bits and other anomalies at this stage and we'd been massively grateful to any of those who can spare a moment to .
This redesign is intended to bring greater order to the increased amount of content the site will aggregate over time, and to better reflect the way that YCN as an organisation has evolved since it's establishment in 2001.
Through annual creative awards, publishing ventures, live events, relationships with creative education - and frequent collaborations, YCN has established a large and ever growing international audience.
We hope this main YCN site will continue to develop as a platform for new creative work, projects, events, products and openings. Alongside central editorial direction, members of the audience can now better use the site to the extent that they wish; whether passively or with differing degrees of involvement through contribution of content, interaction with other users, building up a profile, and applying for opportunities listed within.
The Profile section of the site is one that has gone through some notable changes. The private 'Representation' fields that existed previously for those interested in being considered for professional openings through YCN has gone, and will be replaced in due course by similar (but simplified) private fields within the main profile itself. This function of connecting interested audience members with creative recruiters is one that will be made more effective from hereon in; through the interplay between YCN and a new entity Agency YCN.
In 2007 Agency YCN was launched to run alongside YCN - a new and unique enterprise producing creative campaigns, projects and publications both for YCN itself, and on behalf of varied external clients. Additionally; designers, illustrators and image makers are sourced and commissioned through the agency by creative organisations internationally. The agency thrives on, and is committed to championing and collaborating with, the enormous pool of talent offered by YCN.
By maintaining an up to date profile within this, the new main YCN website any interested parties can be considered for collaborations with, and commissions from, Agency YCN and its clients.
We hope that through this re-design and re-structuring existing and new audience members will get more from YCN, form a clearer understanding of our purpose, and contribute in the development of more good things.
